Gerry and Ansley Downtown Chattanooga Summer 2019 Session

Gerry reached out to me wanting to schedule a session for him and his daughter Ansley. They were traveling to Chattanooga from Nashville for the weekend and wanted some fun, candid shots to document their vacation. When they first arrived, Ansley was being shy and hiding behind her daddy’s back. She came out of her shell pretty quickly when I started talking about adventure. We started at the Walnut Street Bridge and walked down to the Passageway, we got our feet wet and then made our way back to the Ice Cream Show for a snack to cool down with.

Terry and Hope in Midday Downtown Chattanooga, TN Couples Session

Terry booked his experience as a surprise for his wife Hope. They were traveling to Chattanooga in May as a weekend getaway. After having their pictures made, they were headed to stay in a streamline rv in Ooltewah on a working farm. I don’t know about you but to me, this sounds like a wonderful weekend!

Howard Children Spring 2019 in Jasper, Tennessee

Debbi and I have been friends since high school. And ever since she started her family I have been capturing their milestones. I cannot believe how big her children have gotten this year. Darien is so tall, Ronan is less of a baby and more of a child, and just look at how big Felicity is. They are the sweetest and I love when I get to catch up with them!

I LOVE prom sessions! They are always so much fun. Everyone’s already dressed up and looking sharp. And Downtown Chattanooga on the South Side is bustling and colorful.

Jonathan Senior Session at the Tennessee River in Jasper, TN

Jonathan’s mother D’Anne booked this session and had a very unique set of ideas to make sure his Senior Portraits stood out from the crowd. It all came together perfectly and I’m pretty sure even Jonathan had a good time. He brought his cap & gown, his truck, his puppy and his gun.

Sherrie and John's Engagement Session in Sewanee, TN

Sherrie and John asked to have their engagement portraits taken in Sewanee, TN. I love shooting at the University of the South. It’s romantic and whimsical and really feels like you’re at a castle. And these two are perfectly in love.

Alexandria and Brent Engagement Session in Jasper, TN

I had never met these two before. Alexandria reached out to me after finding my work online to book me for her and Brent’s engagement pictures. I am so glad that she did. They are both so sweet and were easy as pie to work with. But most importantly, they are truly in love. They fell into natural poses and held each other close.

Destiny Limited Edition Senior Session in Jasper, TN

Destiny’s mother and I went to high school together. Destiny is fun and carefree. She wasn’t neccesarily too excited about Senior Portraits but she was willing to have them made for her mom. She wanted something different and brought smoke bombs to her session! So much fun!!

Christian Senior Session in Jasper, TN

Christian came to see me for his Senior Portraits and we took them in Jasper, TN. He was SO quiet! But very sweet and very respectful. We took a few pictures in the woods, and a few of him by his car.

Olivia Layne Lifestyle Session in Sewanee, TN

This session with Olivia is definitely different than my usual sessions. You see Olivia was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, was treated for it, and subsequently beat it. Her positive outlook and strength were an inspiration to so many. We did this session as a way of expressing her freedom. Below I am going to attach a her story that she wrote:

Allender Family Session in Downtown South Pittsburg, TN

When Tracie, Chris, Jake and Jared came to see me, Tracie asked if it was was ok to bring their puppy Mally. I always love when people bring along their dogs so of course I told her yes! This pup, was literally the most well behaved and smartest dogs I have ever been around. I was incredibly impressed by how well trained she is. ANYWAYS, back to the humans - This family is so sweet. So kind. And this session was a breeze.

Haley and Hunter's Limited Edition Session in Downtown South Pittsburg

This was my first time meeting Haley and Hunter. Two young people totally in love, that’s literally one of my most favorite things to photograph. They were a breeze and you can just tell they have so much fun together. It was a warm day in February in Downtown South Pittsburg, I love the colors on Main Street as a backdrop.

Limited Edition Sessions are short sessions that include a smaller amount of pictures. I started offering them this year to clients who may not need a full session, or only need a handful of images. Nicole has mentioned a few times about wanting to come to me for pictures, and I am so glad she finally did! This was a really easy session.

Brynna Hamilton Sunset Family Session January 2019

I had never met Brynna and Dennis before our session. So I was very excited to meet them and their children. As we started shooting my (very) expensive 70-200 lens DIED. I was confused and I have to be honest, it threw me for a minute. I panicked. I don’t know why, maybe just because I’m a panicky person. BUT I recovered pretty quickly, I threw on my 35mm and settled back into my session. Brynna and her family are SO much fun. They’re warm and welcoming. It was really easy to capture the dynamics of their family.

Abby-Lynn and Landon on Courthouse Square in Jasper, TN

I’ll just start by saying I LOVE the entire Jordan family, and I love seeing them grow and change. Abby-Lynn came to me with her boyfriend Landon for a quick Limited Edition Session. It was FREEZING that day, literally freezing and windy and miserable, but these two powered through.

Julie & Michael Couples Session in Downtown Chattanooga, TN

This was my first time meeting Julie and Michael. I absolutely love meeting new clients, and this session was no different. These two were just awesome to get to know. They are funny and playful and so much fun. We took all of these in Downtown Chattanooga on the Southside.

Lyndi Silver Lifestyle Session January 2019

Lyndi has been with me for years now. I have been there for pregnancy announcements, her wedding, birthdays and milestones. Watching her grow as well as her children, those connections are one of my most favorite parts of my job. So when she asked me if I could come to their home, to capture them in their environment, I jumped at it. She needed new branding images for her website and blog, Blessed & Obsessed and new portraits of the family and kids. Portraits don’t need to be posed and perfection. Sometimes you just need to capture the every day.

P52 Week 6 - Black and White Landscape

I have been a member of Clickin Moms for a while now. But just haven’t really jumped in yet. I decided this is the year I need to really start shooting more for me. It’s been far too long since I picked up my camera with no expectations. So I joined in a P52. For those of you who don’t know, that’s short for Project 52 and it means you take at least one image a week for an entire year.

I really wanted to take on a P365, but I know with my client workload, I realistically wouldn’t be able to keep up. So here we are, I joined in late, but that’s ok. You can start whenever you’d like. This week’s assignment was to submit a Black and White Landscape Photograph. TRICKY doesn’t even begin to cover it.

I am not a landscape photographer (but gosh, I admire those who are!!). And I am also not even sure this qualifies as a landscape image (lol)! But I LOVE it. I stepped outside my comfort zone, and got to use a skill I don’t often get to use (long exposure photography). I hope you enjoy this! I’ll add my images each week.

Max's First Birthday January 2019 Lifestyle Session

Max turned one right at the beginning of January! I have known Mandy, Max’s mom, since I was a little girl and I’ve been photographing their family for so long I felt right at home. It was SO HARD to narrow down a preview from all of the images. These are a few of my favorites though.

If you are having a birthday party and want to really be present (and not stuck behind a cell phone or camera) the whole time, then I highly recommend hiring a photographer for your child’s day.

Miranda and Marty were my very first session of 2019. She wanted a few couples pictures and some branding and updated head shots for her business. Branding sessions are easily one of my favorites and are so simple when my clients are as beautiful as Miranda. Easy as pie. All of these were taken in Downtown, Chattanooga.
